Humboldt Broncos win 9-3 against Notre Dame Hounds at home opener

HUMBOLDT, WILCOX — With a 9-3 decision, the Humboldt Broncos won their first game at home against the Notre Dame Hounds.

Notre Dame was first to score in the Sept. 25 game, with a goal by Oliver Band. Humboldt then took advantage of a power play, with a goal by Matthew Perkins about halfway into the period. The Broncos' Alec Saretzky and Lucas Ceccarelli rounded off the periods with one goal each.

The second period saw the Humboldt Broncos score five goals, made by Nicksha Eric, Cody Hough during a power play, Kade Olsen, Braiden Koran and Logan Kurki.

Noah Barlage scored the Broncos left goal of the night, right at the start of the third period during a power play. The Hounds finished off the night with two goals during power plays, one by Jaryd Sych and the other by Elliot Dutil.

Rayce Ramsay of the Broncos stopped 18 of 21 shots, while Notre Dame's Aiden Van Der Tas stopped 19 of 24 and Joe Kuchaslo stopped eight of nine.
