Johnston signs deal with Flyers

He was the Humboldt Broncos' top scorer and most valuable player, and now he's going pro. Centre Andrew Johnston had earned a scholarship to Union College when he was in Flin Flon last season.

He was the Humboldt Broncos' top scorer and most valuable player, and now he's going pro. Centre Andrew Johnston had earned a scholarship to Union College when he was in Flin Flon last season. However, over the long weekend, he inked a deal with the Philadelphia Flyers. Johnston signed an entry-level conract with the club on May 21. The 20-year-old undrafted free agent scored 29 goals and added 52 assists in 58 games with the Broncos this season, finishing as the runner-up in the league's MVP voting.
