Three local boys defended their North American Pepsi Cup championship last weekend in Fargo, N.D.

Three local boys defended their North American Pepsi Cup championship last weekend in Fargo, N.D.

North Battleford's Keanu Foulds, Battleford's Jake Southgate and Neilburg's Brayden Koch and their Sask-Can 02 teammates won the boys' 2002 red division championship.

Sask-Can opened the round robin with a 3-0 win over the Manitoba Aeros. In their next game, they doubled up the North Dakota Jr. Beavers 6-3. They finished the round robin undefeated after downing the Minnesota XP Selects 5-0.

In the semifinal, Sask-Can beat the Omaha Tropics 4-1 to advance to the championship.

Sask-Can won the championship with a 3-0 victory over the Beavers to defend their title.

Foulds also defended his scoring championship, finishing the tournament with seven goals and an assist.
