Battlefords North Stars goaltender Darren Martin was named the SJHL goaltender of the week for the period ending Dec. 8.
The Calgary-native made one start for the North Stars during the week, a 2-1 shootout win over the Weyburn Red Wings. Martin stopped 36 of 37 shots in the game, as well as not allowing a goal during the shootout.
Martin is 7-6-1 on the season, with a 2.40 goals against average and a .919 save percentage.
