Lindsay Reimer from Special Olympics Saskatchewan has been named the recipient of the Sask Sport Inc. April Athlete of the Month Award.
On April 21, Reimer competed in the Special Olympics Regina swim meet, a provincial competition with athletes from six Special Olympic communities. She won five gold medals at the meet, giving her first place in every event she competed in. As a result, she was selected for Team Sask at the Canada Summer Games, which are in August. The North Battleford native will also compete at the Special Olympics Saskatchewan Summer Games in Saskatoon in June.
The other nominee was Jeremy Leclerc, Saskatoon Contacts Defenseman.
