NORTH BATTLEFORD - The latest SJHL team to pause operations due to COVID-19 is the Battlefords North Stars.

The North Stars announced the news on their Facebook feed Thursday afternoon, just prior to a scheduled weekend trip to Melville to take on the Millionaires. The news was not yet posted on the SJHL's website.

The pause is for a minimum five-day period and has resulted in postponement of the Melville game Saturday, as well as games Jan. 24 at home to Flin Flon and Jan. 25 at home to Nipawin. The latter two games had been recently rescheduled to next week, but now they are not going ahead.

Prior to the North Stars' pause, it had already been announced that the Jan. 21 game in Notre Dame was postponed.

There is no word yet on when the postponed games will be made up. The North Stars intend to keep fans posted on their social media pages and in the media with any further information.
