Northwest students to compete in golf provincials

Nine golfers from the Northwest will compete in the SHSAA Provincial Sand and Grass Golf championships hosted Friday and Saturday Sept. 26 and 27. All nine will compete in the Grass Golf Championships, held at Evergreen Golf Course at Nipawin.

Nine golfers from the Northwest will compete in the SHSAA Provincial Sand and Grass Golf championships hosted Friday and Saturday Sept. 26 and 27.


All nine will compete in the Grass Golf Championships, held at Evergreen Golf Course at Nipawin.


Brett Benoit, Krstian Houk, Aspen Johnson, Gavin Nolan and Tyler Wasmuth will be representing John Paul II Collegiate. Cheyenne Fineday, Kelsey Gamble, Ashley Iverson and Deanna Tipewan are competing for Spiritwood Public High School.


The Sand Golf Championships will be held at Radville.


This year's championships has 150 (110 grass and 40 sand) participants from across the province. Both tournaments will play 36 holes to determine a champion in the individual and team competitions.


The tournament begins with round one Friday morning and concludes with the final round Saturday beginning at approximately 10:00 am.
