Saturday and Sunday the Battlefords AAA Sharks had a rematch with Notre Dame, who they played in the first round of playoffs the last two seasons.

Revenge would've been sweet, but that wasn't the case.

Both teams entered the games, with streaks spanning over two years and they stayed on that track after the weekend. The Hounds haven't lost since January of 2009 and it stayed that way, as they beat the Sharks 9-1 and 16-1.

Rachel Mitchell and Jacy Akre split time in net both games on the weekend and faced a total of 97 shots.

In both games, the Sharks were able to hold their own and stay within striking distance after the first periods, but their short roster and the Hounds' experience helped the visitors eventually pull away.

After the first period Saturday, the Sharks trailed 2-1, as Taylor Durocher scored her first goal as a Shark.

Sunday, the Sharks trailed 2-0 after the first period. They scored their first and only goal of the day making it a 3-1 game early in the second. Delaney Ross scored her first of the season from Jamie Fedler.

For the Hounds, Olivia Howe led the way recording 10 points in two games, while Brittany Bakstad had eight points, Brittany Berisoff had seven and Kelty Apperson had six points.

The Sharks will be back in action continuing their six-game home streak Nov. 12 and 13 against the Regina Rebels at the Battleford Arena.
