Six North Saskatchewan River Baseball League teams were in action Tuesday night and one team has earned a berth to the second round.

The defending league champions Lloydminster Meridian Twins beat the Mervin Flyers 8-4 in Mervin to take game two of the series.

The other Lloydminster teams, which qualified for the playoffs, were also in action Tuesday and the Lloydminster Junior Redhawks evened their series with the Border City Blue Jays with a 5-0 win.

The third game of the series is set for Wednesday night.

The other playoff game had the Wilkie Brewers edging the Unity Cardinals 8-7. The Brewers had Rick Cey pitch his first game of the season while Francis Kiefer took the loss for the Cardinals.

Unity hit three home runs, two by Justin d'Entremont, but it wasn't enough. Game two goes Wednesday night in Unity and if necessary game three is scheduled for Thursday.

The North Battleford Beavers also host the Meadow Lake White Sox in playoff action Wednesday night. The White Sox led the series 1-0.
