The first round of the North Saskatchewan River Baseball League is complete after a lopsided victory by Wilkie Tuesday night.
The Brewers hammered the Standard Hill Lakers 11-1 in game three of their series to advance to the next round.
The first two games of the series were as close as can be, both ending in 10-9 scores. Wilkie’s win Tuesday was the only time in the series the road team won.
Other series victors include the Border City Blue Jays who easily handled the Macklin Lakers 15-0 in game one and 5-1 in game two for the sweep.
The defending champion Lloydminster Twins also swept their opening round series, as they outscored the Unity Cardinals by a combined 18-3 over the two games.
The last series featured a pair of tight games, as the Meadow Lake Sox defeated the St. Walburg Reds 5-4 in game one and 8-7 in game two to advance.
