The New Horizons were back on the ice Oct. 29.

Is it Puff or is it Foster? It really doesn't matter, because the pair of them gave the Hall rink a lesson in curling in the first three ends of the morning draw. They kept up the pace and Ralph Hall had to curl his best to keep the game close, and close is the best they could do.

On the next sheet it seemed that "one at a time was good fishing," but Bruce Chadwick brought out a net in the third end and scored four. Not happy with that, they scored another three in the sixth. Down 8-3 with two ends to go, who would have thought a steal of four in the final end would give the Gregoire team the win? It did!

Doug Belyk and Rod Forester started out having a friendly game, until Rod marked up a big four in the fifth and was three up coming home. Early morning is not the best time for Doug, but he gets another try in the afternoon.

The Dudek and Horrell rinks did not believe in giving or taking just one point. It was twos and threes until the sixth, when Dick scored a single, leaving him trailing by three, then another one in seven, making it two down coming home without the hammer.Doreen's final rock was a little fast and outside and Dick stole the tie.

The afternoon on sheet three saw a queer game. The Krismer rink started off with a big five on the first end. After three they were eight up, but they stole another four.At this point it was Wally Bayne who hadn't missed a shot. The Peever group retaliated and got a four of their own, then two, then three and after being down 12, were only three away from a tie - but it didn't happen.

Raycraft and Kjargaard started out normal, but a three in the second end put Allie Raycraft behind the eight ball.Next to them, Allan Rogers was thinking much the same thing when after four ends they were not on the board. However, they battled it out to the end with Lyle Darwent and came out on top.

What happened on the end sheet is hard to say. It was Belyk's second game of the day and it was a comeback as the team counted the first three ends. The Korpach team came back with three on the next end. What happened after that is hard to say as no more scores were put up. So let's say Belyk bested Korpach 4-3 after four.
