The Wilkie Outlaws have the St. Walburg Eagles pinned up against the boards in the North Saskatchewan River Hockey League's championship series.

The Outlaws won the first game of the series in St. Walburg after a come from behind overtime win.

In game two, back on home ice, Barrett Penner scored the game's first goal from Robert Keller in the first period. Mike Sittler scored from Andrew Herle in the second. That was all the offence in the game and all the Outlaws would need. Wilkie earned the 2-0 win and Jared Herle was perfect in the Outlaws' net.

There was also excitement in the penalty box area in the second period, as St. Walburg's Matt Krepps was kicked out of the game for a gross misconduct after the buzzer in the second period.

Back in St. Walburg for game three, the teams were tied 0-0 after 20 minutes. In the second, David Schell and Rick Cey set up Penner and Wilkie led 1-0. Less than a minute later, Travis Nasby scored for the Eagles and tied the game with Taylor Thiessen and Randy Larre drawing the assists.

The game looked to stay tied heading into the third period, but with 45 seconds left Lorne Griffiths scored from Andrew Herle and Sittler.

In the third period, Sittler added to Wilkie's lead with Herle and Griffiths drawing the assists.

St. Walburg would score with 1:28 to go in the third period, but couldn't tie the game after that. Curtis Zerr scored the Eagles' goal from Trevor Bailey and Trent Campbell.

Penner is leading the playoffs in points with eight goals and 11 assists in nine games while Sittler, Cey and Herle are next in line with 13, 13 and 12 points. Bailey leads the Eagles in points with 11 in six playoff games

Wilkie will have their first chance to end the series Friday on home ice. If St. Walburg extends the series, game five is scheduled for Saturday night in St. Walburg.
