Sunday, The Battleford Peewee Sharks improved to 8-0 in East Central Alberta Female Hockey League action after a 4-1 win in Wainwright.

Kaitlin Ahenakew lead the Sharks with two goals, while Dawria Dickson picked up her first goal of the season and Melina Johnston had the other Sharks' marker.

Matheson Colliar stood tall in net earning the win.

The Sharks will now take a break from league action and focus on their home tournament Saturday and Sunday.

The Sharks start the tournament Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Don Ross and would need three wins to take the championship.

Peewee AA Barons

The Barons were at home for two games on the weekend, and had to be considered a successful weekend with a win and tie.

First they played Humboldt and after two goals by Brando Lesko and Owen Lamb and singles by Cody Clarke, Blake Fenning and Jared Schmidt the game ended 7-7.

The next day, the Warman Wildcats were in town and the Barons cruised to a 6-2 win. The Barons had six different goal scorers including Cody Kalyn, Blake, Owen, Caleb Biensch, Brando and Jayden Nachtegaele.

Dax Desmarais was the winning goalie.
