The Agriplex hosted three roller derby bouts Saturday evening as the BRDL's Rubby Rollers played their final home bouts of the season.
In the first bout, Saskatoon's Voodoo Vixens needed extra time to beat the Rubby Rollers 107-87.
The Voodoo Vixens jumped out to a lead in the early minutes of the bout. They won five of the first seven jams to take a 32-10 lead. As the Vixens began to pull away, the Rubby Rollers took advantage of a power jam to keep the bout within 14 points. The Vixens began to pull away again, creating a 20-point gap with little time left on the clock.
In what turned out to be the final jam of regulation, the Rubby Rollers scored 20 points to tie the game and force an extra two-minute sudden death jam. In the extra time, the Vixens outscored the Rollers 40-20 to give the Saskatoon club a 107-87 win.
The second bout featured the Voodoo Vixens again squaring off against the Parole Models, their fellow Saskatoon club. It was another close bout as the Vixens edged the Parole Models 80-76.
After the first jam gave the Parole Models a 2-0 lead, the Voodoo Vixens put up 19 points in the second. The Parole Models took the lead again in the fourth jam, going up 20-19.
In the fifth, the Voodoo Vixens took the lead and never let it go for the rest of the period. However, the Vixens were never able to put the Parole Models away as they hung around for the majority of the game.
The two teams were tied at 76 late in the bout when the Voodoo Vixens' jammer burst through the pack first to take lead jammer status. The Vixens scored four points in the jam to pick up the 80-76 win.
The third bout saw the Rubby Rollers take on the Parole Models.
