Team Saskatchewan had a successful run at the 2014 North American Indigenous Games in Regina last week.
The games, which wrapped up Sunday, saw Team Saskatchewan finish second in the total count with 159 medals, one behind British Columbia. The Saskatchewan side ran away with the gold medal total, accumulating 72 over the eight-day event. They finished with nine more gold medals than the next nearest team.
Team Saskatchewan was comprised of 430 athletes who were chosen through a tryout process held in communities across the province. More than 1,500 tried out for a spot on the team.
