Enjoying an active, healthy lifestyle at age 90 is an accomplishment in itself. Winning a silver medal in provincial golf and advancing to national golf championships is an amazing feat.

Unity resident, J.P. Boser, competed in a Saskatchewan Senior Fitness Association provincial event earning a silver medal that earns him a trip to Canadians in Edmonton Aug. 28 and 29.

Boser has been taking part in these tournaments, that occur every two years, since 2002 and he has seen success every year he has competed. This will be his third trip to a Canadian National Seniors, winning his first berth, and subsequent national silver medal in Summerside, P.E.I. in 2002.

Boser was the oldest participant at this year's event and was partnered with an 85- and 87-year-old. He teased the organizers they should have a additional golf flight for 90 and over. However, judging by the success he has earned it is doubtful he needs his own age category.

Prior to 2002, Boser always competed with the local legion as well as the Unity Golf Club, where he is a member.
