Spirtwood's Team Thompson takes gold at U14 bonspiel

The Tim Horton’s U14 Bonspiel took place at the Twin Rivers Curling Club over the weekend. The event featured 14 teams from the surrounding area, including North Battleford, Spiritwood, Wilkie, Shellbrook and Saskatoon.

The Tim Horton’s U14 Bonspiel took place at the Twin Rivers Curling Club over the weekend.

The event featured 14 teams from the surrounding area, including North Battleford, Spiritwood, Wilkie, Shellbrook and Saskatoon.

Team Belair from Shellbrook took home the bronze medal, while Team Neufeld grabbed the silver.

The gold went to Team Thompson of Spiritwood.

The closing ceremonies featured a speech from Battleford native Cole Tenetuik, who recently returned from a second place finish at the 2015 Canadian Junior Men’s tournament in Corner Brook, NFLD.

The next upcoming event at Twin Rivers is the Battle River Rocker Women’s Bonspiel Feb. 27-29.
