There was very little for fans of the North Battleford Comprehensive High School Vikings to cheer about Friday night.
St. Joseph Guardians came into town and beat the Vikings 31-7. The Guardians racked up 31 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.
The only scoring highlight for the Vikings came late, when they were able to put together a good drive in Guardians territory.
A couple of big catches by Zach Wolfe helped the Vikings get into the red zone, and the drive was capped by a short Dylan Schaefer running play into the end zone for a touchdown in the final minute of play. Unfortunately for the Vikings, it was far too little, too late.
The Vikings record drops to 1-2 on the season. The Vikings try to get back in the win column on the road at Prince Albert St. Mary next Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
