The Lloydminster Twins are one step closer to their fifth straight NSRBL championship.
The Twins swept their best-of-three series with the Mervin Flyers to advance to the second round. Game one of the series saw the Twins down the Flyers 8-1 in Lloydminster. In game two Monday night in Mervin, the Twins cruised to a 10-2 win to eliminate the Flyers from the post-season.
The Wilkie Brewers won the opening game of their series on the road in Meadow Lake, beating the Sox 12-4. Game two of the series is Wednesday night in Wilkie. If necessary, game three is Thursday in Meadow Lake.
The final first round series saw the Midwest Expos winning game one 5-4 over the Unity Cardinals. Game two is Wednesday in Unity.
