U15/U18 curling bonspiel held at Twin Rivers

Both winning rinks came from Saskatoon.

NORTH BATTLEFORD  This weekend, Twin Rivers Curling Club hosted a CurlSask U15 / U18 bonspiel.

The curling club reports that seven boys' and girls' teams entered with teams coming from clubs located in Saskatoon, Spiritwood and North Battleford.

The final games both came down to last rock in the eighth end. On the U18 boys' side, the Snow team prevailed over the Jones team; both rinks are from the Saskatoon Granite Curling Club. Team Snow consists of Rogan Snow (skip), Nathan Roy (third), Cole Hilderman (second), Evan Roy (lead) and Caden Snow (coach).

On the girls’ side, Team Taylor from Saskatoon Nutana Curling Club prevailed over Team Kesslering from Saskatoon Granite. The winning team, is Savanna Taylor (skip), Ava Beausoleil (third), Annika Steckler (second), Katie Kenndey (lead) and coach Brian Steckler. Ava Beausoleil’s home club is Twin Rivers, but she curls competitively with the Taylor team.

Ava’s sister, Leah Beausoleil, was also in action as skip representing a U15 team from Twin Rivers, but due to lack of other U15 entries her team competed in the U18 division, where they almost made the final. The team also included Chloe Semeniuk, Halie Stockman, Macey Odishaw and coach Nicole Beausoleil.
