I am really surprised the approved home operators withmental health ishavinga balloonrelease in front of North Battleford City Hall. This is to take place at the same time as a flag raising ceremony, so I would thinkthe City knows of it and approves as the two ceremonies have been advertised together.With so many groups involved, is no one aware of the dangers balloon launches can cause?
For years the World Wildlife Federation has begged communities and groups to stop doing this because once the balloons deflate and land wild animalsorpets caneat the "colourful treats." Once inside an animal the balloon wreaks havoc on the digestive system, can cause blockages which can end up in a very slow,extremely painful death. I am sure there are many other ways to bring attention to a cause than at the expense of innocent animals.
