Dear Editor
"Feeling gratitude for something and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it."
Eight years ago, I was diagnosed with a chronic, terminal illness. For obvious reasons, it was necessary to find an intelligent, caring and empathetic team of physicians and surgeons of gastronomy. After a gruelling search and many terrible experiences, I found both.
One of these is family physician Dr. A. N. Rodriguez in the Battleford region. He has become a man of great importance in my life, both personally and professionally. My family remains so comforted in knowing he has always been there and continues to be there for us, displaying courtesy, care and dignity.
Whether my disease is on its normal path or takes a turn for the worse, he is there with treatment, care, and empathy.
A few months ago, a 42-year-old friend in our support group was dismissed by her physician for having a condition "too difficult to deal with." She had no one in her corner. The stress became unbearable. A mere 34 days later, she died.
All doctors are not like this. Please thank your doctors and their teams/staff before it's too late. They deserve it.
Thank you, Dr. Rodriguez, for always being there for us. It must be so difficult to see people suffer. But, you and Mel continue to treat us with dignity and grace. God Bless You for your compassion in my life and living.
Poem of Gratitude
There are few who cross our path of life,
That remain forever in our hearts.
One whose comfort, care, and concern -
Has been an unyielding part.
Your regard for your patients, Dr. Rodriguez
Is a gift to others who can't compare,
Your patience, skilled hands, gentle touch,
And ability to see beyond is rare.
As I continue with my fight
In this battle for my life
I want to thank you for your contribution
