Up goes the cost, down goes the service

Dear Editor

Here we go again with Canada Post.

Up goes the prices, down goes the service.

May I suggest they only fire 80 per cent of the letter carriers and that way home deliveries could still be done once a week with each carrier doing a different route each day.

Now let's only deliver the mail to each community once a week that way we only need 20 per cent of the mail trucks. Good for the wallet, good for the environment.

Community mailboxes, bah humbug.

If you are going to use community mailboxes then we don't need Canada Post. Private contractors can deliver to them.

I can still remember when it cost one cent to send a Christmas card and five cents to send a letter. Then Canada Post raised the cost to two cents to send a card and people reduced sending cards by about 80 per cent because they couldn't afford to send cards.

The cost of sending a parcel has risen to such a high level that if you have five to send to Saskatoon it may be cheaper to drive.

STC will deliver a senior to the city for a similar price to what they or Canada Post want to deliver a coffee perk. Don't figure.
