Police respond to slew of break and enters to business

PRINCE ALBERT - The Prince Albert Police Service is investigating following a string of break and enters at a firearms business over the last ten days.

On June 25, police were called to a business in the 100 block of 14th Street East for a report of an attempted break and enter. Upon arrival, officers learned that at some point over the previous two nights, someone attempted to gain access to the business.

Then on June 27, police were called back to the business for a report of an attempted break and enter. Patrol officers and the Canine Unit attended and cleared the building; however, no one was located inside the business. At this time, there is no evidence that access was gained to the business.

On July 1, at around 4 a.m., officers were called back to the business for a report of a break and enter where the suspect allegedly fled with multiple firearm scopes. The Canine Unit attended and a K9 track was conducted but was unsuccessful.

At approximately 2:30 a.m. on July 4, police were called to a business in the 100 block of 14th Street East for a break and enter. Arriving officers contained the outside of the building and shortly after, an adult suspect male was located and arrested without further incident. Officers continued to clear the building and upon a further search, a stash of firearms, CO2 firearms, ammunition, and an assortment of firearm attachments were located. As a result of this investigation, a 26-year-old man has been charged with break and enter with intent, possession of unregistered restricted weapons (x2), breaking and entering with intent to steal a firearm (x2), possession of restricted firearms for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of non-restricted firearms for the purpose of trafficking.
