RCMP ask public assistance in locating wanted man out of Waskesiu

WASKESIU — RCMP are asking the public for information that could help them find a man wanted for assault and weapons charges. They say if you see him, do not approach him, but instead let police know.

Waskesiu RCMP and Saskatchewan RCMP’s Prince Albert Warrant Enforcement and Suppression Team (WEST) are asking the public to report sightings and information on the whereabouts of 25-year-old Xavier Smith.

Xavier is wanted on warrant by RCMP for charges including aggravated assault, pointing a firearm and unauthorized possession of a firearm. These charges were laid in relation to a Feb. 23 incident, say police

Smith is described as: 

• Height: 5 ft 6 in  
• Weight: 165 lbs 
• Eye colour: brown 
• Hair colour and style: black, short 
• Other descriptors: multiple facial tattoos including: forehead, the word “INSANE”, chin, the word “TWENTY”, left cheek, the letters “STK”, on the left jaw, the word “NINETEEN”, a teardrop under the left eye and the numbers “5150” under the right eye.

Smith is known to travel to the following areas: 

• Montreal Lake First Nation
• Sturgeon Lake First Nation
• Prince Albert
