Celebrating family time was part of a new event at Luseland School

Who says it has to be summer to enjoy a picnic?

LUSELAND - In an event that was the first of its kind since the onset of the pandemic in 2020, the Luseland School hosted a family picnic March 30.

Staff, students and families were excited to take part in a first-time gathering event after two years of provincial mandates and restrictions.

Families of students in Grades K-12 were invited to bring a picnic lunch and a blanket to the school to join their children in the hallways and the gymnasium to enjoy lunch together.

Many parents, grandparents, guardians and siblings took part in the event, relishing the opportunity to enjoy lunch together.  Happy sounds of families enjoying together time inside the school could be heard. There were plenty of smiles all around at the opportunity to gather inside the school once again.

Following lunch, families were encouraged to read together as well as many students enjoyed reading to their families who joined them.

Principal, Mrs. Elliott Roellchen-Pfohl, says, "We are thankful for everyone that participated. It was such a treat to host families in the school again and we look forward to many more family picnics in the future."
