A diagram has been released showing what the Highway 21 rerouting project at Unity, set to begin this spring, will look like.

UNITY — Mayor Sharon Del Frari says the Town of Unity was given permission to share with the Press-Herald / SASKTODAY.ca a diagram of what the Highway 21 reroute project will look like.

“The project will be in the hands of the Ministry of Highways. It is going ahead with the hard work done by Bill Fraser as part of the West Central Communities Transportation Committee, Carey Baker, our former economic development officer, North West Terminal, the R. Of Round Valley and the Town of Unity,” says Del Frari.

The mayor says they have worked in partnership with the Ministry of Highways to have this long-awaited project become a reality and the work is set to start later this spring. Del Frari also says completion of the project will increase traffic and pedestrian safety.

Re-routing will affect some of the property at the Unity and District Heritage Museum, so the Town has said they will work with the museum committee to help find a resolution to the change.
