LOCCSD presents Nadine Keller with Lumen Christi award

The board of education of the Light of Christ Catholic School Division held a special celebration for staff May 12.

UNITY — The board of education of the Light of Christ Catholic School Division held a special celebration for staff May 12.

The evening had a Mardi Gras theme that included a New Orleans-style meal.

A short program honoured retirees and employees for their years of service. The Lumen Christi award was presented to retired St. Peter's School teacher Nadine Keller.

Keller was instrumental in having a strong music presence at St. Peter's School directing various choirs that performed in school, in St. Peter's Church and in the community. She was prepared children for the annual music festival, of which she was a long-time committee member, as well as leading the school's band program.

The Lumen Christi award recipient is nominated and chosen by the board of education. The LOCCSD presents annual awards to worthy recipients who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the field of Catholic education in local communities. Awards are given in each of two categories which are faculty/staff and alumni/friend.

The 2021 Lumen Christi Award was presented to St. Peter’s Parish, Father Greg Roth.
