SaskTel Tankard includes Kerrobert’s Team Heidt

Kerrobert curling fans will be tuned in Feb. 3 at 7:30 p.m. to see Team Heidt competing at the Saskatchewan men's provincial curling championships taking place in Estevan.

KERROBERT — Following in the footsteps of father Brad Heidt while forging their own way into competitive curling circles, two Heidt brothers are competing at CurlSask men’s provincial curling championships in Estevan that began Feb. 1 and will conclude with a provincial winner Feb. 5.

While Team Heidt, skipped by Josh Heidt, has not experienced the success they had hoped for so far in their event, they continue to hurry hard in hopes of earning a spot in playoff rounds.

The team includes Josh at skip backed by brother Drew at third position. Tyler Gamble is playing lead and Matt Lang is playing second. The team is coached by longtime teammate of Brad Heidt, Mark Lang, who also coaches Team Penny Barker.

In triple knockout format, the team is left with one chance to continue play after dropping their opening game to Team Bernath and losing in the B side to Team Kleiter.

Team Heidt will play Feb. 3 7:30 p.m. draw against Team Kalthoff who lost an afternoon game to Team Laycock.

You can watch the games on YouTube with link on CurlSask Facebook.

Team Colton Flasch, a one-time Biggar resident, is the top seed at the provincial curling event
