Cut Knife Report – Aug. 11–17
The Cut Knife RCMP received 86 calls for service between Aug. 11 and 17. These files included well-being checks, reports of disturbances, traffic offences, mischief, assault, assault with a weapon, breach of peace, failure to comply with orders, Mental Health Act matters, fire, theft of a vehicle, sexual assault, break and enter, Liquor Act, harassing communication, crime prevention, collision, theft, suspicious person, family dispute, animal call and assisting other agencies.

On Aug. 11, officers were dispatched to a structure fire on Little Pine First Nation. Upon arrival, members found the residence fully engulfed in flames. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The source of the fire is still under investigation.
An 18-year-old woman contacted the RCMP after spotting her stolen vehicle parked behind a residence. Officers responded promptly and located the vehicle with a woman sleeping behind the driver’s seat. The suspect, a 27-year-old woman, was arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000. The investigation is ongoing.
RCMP also responded to a report from a 45-year-old man who claimed he had been assaulted by two individuals who subsequently stole his quad. Officers attended the scene, but the suspects had fled before their arrival. After conducting interviews and gathering evidence, police arrested a 41-year-old individual in connection with the assault and theft. Charges have been laid, and efforts are ongoing to locate the second suspect.
Sixteen traffic stops were made, resulting in speeding tickets, warnings and roadside suspensions. Members also responded to four alarms.
In your community
Cut Knife RCMP greeted and escorted the Rolling Barrage through Cut Knife on Aug. 11. The Rolling Barrage stopped at Tomahawk Park, issuing a Certificate of Appreciation to the detachment. The group of motorcycle riders travels nationwide to raise awareness of those living with mental health injuries while serving in the Canadian Forces or their communities.
Cut Knife members attended the Pow Wow in Poundmaker Cree Nation, participating in the Grand Entries and subsequent events between Aug. 12 and 14.
Cut Knife members also took part in the tractor parade on Aug. 17 in Neilburg.
Unity Report – Aug. 12–18
RCMP received a complaint of disturbing the peace. Members spoke to the subject of the complaint.
CN Police reported a railway crossing malfunction near Scott. Reported for information purposes.
Members received a complaint of an individual damaging a vehicle. This matter is still under investigation.
Police received a complaint of assault. Members attended, but the complainant declined to proceed.
RCMP received two complaints of an individual trespassing in a rural area. Members located the subject of the complaint, who had run out of fuel. One complainant assisted by providing fuel. No charges were laid.
Police received a complaint of theft of fuel from a local gas station. Members contacted the subject of the complaint, who paid for the fuel. No charges were laid.
CP Police reported a train colliding with a cow. Members searched but could not locate the animal. The landowner was notified.
Members received a complaint of theft, but there was insufficient evidence to proceed.
CN Police reported individuals trespassing on private property. They later called back to report the individuals were no longer in the area.
There were also seven traffic complaints and one false alarm.
Wilkie Report
RCMP received a report of a two-vehicle collision in Wilkie. One driver sustained minor injuries. No charges were laid.
Police received a report of a missing cow. This matter is still under investigation.
Members received a complaint of a break and enter at the old Wilkie pool. This matter is still under investigation.
RCMP acted as mediators in a child custody dispute.
Members conducted a well-being check at the request of a family member.
Police received a complaint of criminal harassment, but it was unfounded.
There was also one traffic complaint, one false alarm and one false 911 call.
Macklin Report
RCMP attended the sudden death of a 66-year-old man from Macklin. The death was not suspicious.
Police initiated a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled. Members patrolled but could not locate the subject of the complaint.
Members conducted a well-being check at the request of a concerned citizen.
RCMP received a complaint of assault. Members attended, but the complainant requested no further action.
Members are investigating a complaint of theft.
Police received a complaint of a suspicious individual driving around Macklin. Members located the subject of the complaint, who fled from police. Patrols were unsuccessful.
There were also two false alarms.
