UWF forced to postpone annual wildlife supper and awards

Another community wildlife event forced to alter plans due to Omicron surge in the province

UNITY - With the resurgence of COVID-19 as a result of the Omicron variant, the Unity Wildlife Federation made the difficult decision to postpone their always sold out annual supper and awards.

UWF Board member, Kurt Elder, tells the Press-Herald / SASKTODAY.ca, "The local board of directors of UWF met and discussed this decision in great depth. The resurgence of COVID-19 in our community and surrounding areas resulted in the postponement of our annual awards and dinner. We felt this was the best option at this time."

Elder says they are hopeful to hold this event at a later date but knew that now was not the time to bring people together and risk their supporter's health.

"If we are unable to host our supper and awards night, all of our awards will be given out individually to the members that won them," says Elder.

UWF urges patience and understanding as this decision was not an easy one and they assure supporters that they are doing their best to keep the community informed of any changes that happen as a result of this decision.

Kerrobert Wildlife Federation recently announced their annual awards and dinner had been cancelled for the same reasons.
