BRANDOW

Earnest Henry Brandow went to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at Providence Place in Moose Jaw, SK, at the age of 78 years. Earnie was born September 5th, 1946, fifteen miles north of Stoughton, SK, to Austin and Sylvia (née: Shoemaker) Brandow. Earnie loved the farm and had a fond love of horses.  He graduated high school at Corning, SK in 1964 and then went on to get a standard certificate in teaching. Earnie then began his teaching career with a grade 8 class at Glenavon, SK, where he was able to get a loan to buy a 1962 Chevy. He returned to the U of R where he graduated with his B. Ed in 1972. He taught high school in Churchbridge, SK. Earnie took several classes in French and taught French for several years throughout his career. After a short time in Churchbridge, he moved and continued his teaching career in Gladmar, SK. Here Earnie also met the love of his life, Sandra Prentice, who was also teaching. They were married on June 8th, 1974, before moving to Landis, SK to continue their teaching careers. In 1979 they were excited to adopt Sean. In 1980 Earnie left his teaching career behind to move to Caronport, SK and become the Provincial Director for CSSM (One Hope). He put on many miles travelling Saskatchewan, visiting many different camps. He loved meeting new people, forging new relationships. During this time, they expanded their little family by adopting Heather. After 8 years the B.C. Director of CSSM invited Earnie to serve at Caribou School of the Bible near Quesnel. So, the Brandow family picked up and moved to the bush in B.C. where Earnie was appointed as business manager of the school. They spent many fond years in there before moving back to Saskatchewan where Earnie became the bookkeeper for Millar College of the Bible, at Pambrun, SK. When they arrived at the Saskatchewan border, Earnie stopped the car, got out and cried, he was so thankful to be back on the prairies. In 1998 Earnie, Sandra and Heather moved back to Caronport, leaving Sean behind at Millar. Earnie continued his education at Caronport. Earnie and Sandra then moved into Moose Jaw in 2000, where they have lived ever since.

Earnie loved travelling, camping and being outside. He enjoyed teaching Zowie how to skate and playing street hockey with his grandsons whenever he got the chance. He also loved music. Following his teaching career, Earnie did some subbing where he was fondly nicknamed the singing sub because he would bring his guitar along to school and write songs for the students. With a Bible in one hand and a guitar in the other, Earnie ministered faithfully in many senior's homes in Ponteix and Moose Jaw. Earnie loved God and his desire was to take every opportunity to share the good news of the gospel.

He was predeceased by his parents, Austin and Sylvia Brandow; brother Chuck Brandow; and sister-in-law, Sharon Brandow. Earnie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Sandra; son, Sean (Marsha); grandsons: Bo, Eli, Quaid, and Silas; daughter, Heather; granddaughter, Zowie; brother, Ron (Lana) Brandow; sister, Carolyn (John) Medforth; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 9th, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 1010 Main St N in Moose Jaw with Pastor Scott Elger officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Cara Ashworth, Funeral Director 306-693-4550 www.moosejawfuneralhome.com
