Florence May (Binner) Forsythe

Florence (Binner) Forsythe of Points West Living, Moose Jaw passed away peacefully at F. H. Wigmore Hospital in Moose Jaw on Saturday, May 24, 2025. She was surrounded by her remaining children as she concluded a long journey with declining health.
Florence is predeceased by Jack Binner (1982) and George Forsythe (2010). She was also predeceased by her eldest son Dale Binner in 2024.
She is survived by her children, Doug Binner (Joanne) of Milton, Ontario, Kerry Munroe (Rod) of Regina, Donna Binner of Regina and Kelly Binner of Moose Jaw. Also survived by her grandchildren: Dale’s children, Leah Tang (Dinh) and Darcie, Kerry’s children, Scott (Jade), Taryn and Clark, and Doug’s children, Jordan, Joel (Jennifer) and Jonathan; and by her 9 great grandchildren Jackson, Ethan, Caleb, Emma, Jack, Gavin, Jovie, Keira, Cece. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Florence was born in Fort San in 1932, the eldest of three children, and raised in Balcarres, Sask. She entered nurses training at the Grey Nuns Hospital in Regina and graduated as an RN in 1952.
Florence got her first nursing job in Mossbank, and it was there that she met a young storekeeper by the name of Jack Binner. They married in 1954, moved to Parkbeg in 1956 and for the next 20 years she raised a family, helped run the family general store and became the ‘unofficial’ community nurse.
After Jack passed away in 1982, Florence and Kelly spent the next 13 years on their own, until George Forsythe came a courting, and gave her a brand-new lease on life. Florence and George were married in 1995 and spent 15 wonderful years camping, fishing, golfing, square dancing and travelling.
A service of celebration of Florence’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. in Moose Jaw Funeral Home followed by a reception, and an interment at Sunset Cemetery in Moose Jaw.
