Gladys Nelson

November 2, 1940 – June 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Gladys Nelson on June 4, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on November 2, 1940, in beautiful Rainy Lake, Ontario, Gladys lived a life rooted in kindness, dedication, and quiet strength.

A beloved mother, grandmother, great- grandmother and friend, Gladys devoted her life to caring for others. Whether in her role as a talented cook or a compassionate caregiver, she gave of herself generously, always with warmth and humility. Her hands prepared countless meals and her heart offered comfort to many in need.

Gladys was the proud and loving mother of Keith, Karen (Glen), Albert, Neil, Roy, Marty (Kathy), and Janice. She was predeceased by two of her children, Kenny and Beverly, and carried their memory close to her heart every day.

She will be remembered for her strong spirit, her deep love for family, and the way she made every house feel like home. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the family she cherished.

A viewing will be held on Sunday June 8th at W. J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, 474 Hochelaga St W, Moose Jaw at 2 pm.

A graveside service to celebrate Gladys’s life will be held at Rosedale Cemetery on Monday June 9th at 1:30 pm. For those wishing to attend please meet outside the gates at 1:15 pm.

A memorial summer festival is being planned in honour of Gladys and will be announced at a later date. Updates will be posted on the Jones Funeral Home website on Gladys's memorial page.
