It is with deep sorrow that we share the news of the passing of our beloved wife and mother, Cheryl Thorson. Cheryl left us on April 30, 2025, at the age of 60. She was raised in the Eastleigh District, south of Mortlach, SK, with her parents, Dorothy and George, and her siblings, Heather and Blaine. During the era of neon colours, shoulder pads, and big hair, Cheryl met her husband Peter at a dance, where they were introduced twice by two different people.
Over their 38 years of marriage, they built a wonderful life together, filled with love and joy, raising three children along the way. From the Canadian East Coast to the BC mountains, they created unforgettable memories in their travels. Cheryl had a passion for creativity, often spending her time engaged in wire wrapping, crafting resin creations, photography, gardening, needlepoint, and among other artistic pursuits. In the past year, she cherished her role as a grandmother to her beloved granddaughter, Gracie. She was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
Cheryl is survived by her husband, Peter Thorson; three children, Evan (Brooklyn), Ashley (Arthur), and Matthew Thorson; grandchild, Gracie Timleck; and siblings, Blaine (Marianne) Day and Heather (John) Setters. Cheryl is predeceased by her mother, Dorothy Day, and father, George Day.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Cheryl on Friday, May 9, 2025, at 11:00 am, at W.J. Jones & Son Funeral Home, followed by luncheon, 474 Hochelaga St. W, Moose Jaw, SK.
