Lila Pauline Wycotte “Mouse”
Sunrise December 19, 1957, to sunset August 10, 2025
With great sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Lila Wycotte. Lila was born in Vancouver, BC, on December 19, 1957, and passed in Dinsmore, Saskatchewan, on August 10, 2025. Lila leaves behind two daughters, three sons, two grandchildren, many brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many friends she considered her family who fondly called her “mouse.” Lila is being brought home to her community to be laid to rest with her late sister, Joan Wycotte, in the Williams Lake First Nation Territory on August 20, 2025.
Lila lived a life filled with challenges from the day she entered this world, yet she faced every hardship with strength, determination, and compassion. She never let her upbringing or past define her, proving repeatedly that she could create a good and meaningful life on her own terms. Her love for all living things was clear in her care for people and animals alike, especially her beloved dogs, cats, and horses. Lila enjoyed playing VLTs, listening to classic rock & roll, and watching westerns. She had a heart of gold, always ready to give the shirt off her back to someone in need. Lila was kind, humble, and fiercely independent. She lived simply, peacefully, and with a sense of contentment, guided by her compassion for others-particularly women and children in need, and animals in distress.
Lila lived her life the way she wanted-fully, freely, and with love in her heart. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In honor of Lila’s life and passions, donations may be made to an animal shelter, a women’s and children’s shelter, or the Canadian Cancer Society.
