REGINA - Cary Power went into a state of shock after he checked his Daily Grand and Extra ticket. The Cadillac local won $100,000 on the August 24 Extra draw!

Power purchased his $12 Daily Grand and Extra ticket a couple days before the draw from Pioneer Co-op, located at 1860 Springs Dr. in Swift Current. He returned to the store a couple days after the draw and checked his ticket on a self-checker.

“Oh my God, I couldn’t believe what I was seeing,” he laughed while claiming his prize. “I mean it. I was in complete shock.”

“A complete stranger came up to me in the store and gave me a big hug,” he continued, laughing. “No idea who that woman was, but we were hugging! I was stunned.”

Power said his shock grew even more when he took his ticket to the store clerk, and he learned his prize was larger than he initially thought.

“I thought I won $10,000 at first,” he explained. “But $100,000, well, that’s a big prize!”

The winner said he has some big ideas for his recent windfall.

“I’m going to be smart and invest some and then pay off all my bills,” he said. “I’m also pricing out a trip to Budapest!”

“I really already have everything that I’ve ever wanted,” he continued. “But I could always use another remote-controlled airplane!”
