Looking to buy KISS tickets? Be careful

Saskatchewan residents should ensure they buy from the primary seller, such as Ticketmaster or SaskTel Centre.

SASKATOON - If you are hoping to buy tickets to the KISS End of the Road world tour concert happening Nov. 13 at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon, you are urged to be careful to avoid being ripped off.

The concert, part of the final KISS world tour, is sure to be the hottest ticket in Saskatchewan. Tickets go on sale March 10 at 10 a.m., but the province is warning that purchases made within 48 hours of the tickets going on sale should be made from a primary seller. Otherwise, you might get scammed.

"Consumers who are planning to purchase tickets as soon as they become available should ensure that they are buying from the primary seller," said Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority Executive Director of Consumer Protection Division Denny Huyghebaert in a statement.

That means you should buy them from Ticketmaster, or from the concert venue itself — in this case, SaskTel Centre.

Here are some tips being offered by the FCAA:

  • Regarding resale tickets, resellers are not allowed to sell tickets within the first 48 hours a primary seller puts them on sale. But after 48 hours, resellers can advertise and resell tickets. Resellers can sell tickets at inflated prices, and can be located reselling tickets on some primary seller websites.
  • People are being warned that if you buy tickets from a resale site within the first 48 hours, those tickets might be fake. An indicator that tickets may be fake include no specific seat numbers, or prices in U.S. dollars for the show in Canada.
  • If you do buy from a resale site and the ticket does turn out to be fake, it may be easier to get a refund if you purchased with a credit card rather than cash or debit. You are urged to read the terms and conditions on your credit card to know what protections are available.
