REGINA - RCMP National Headquarters has confirmed to Sask Today that Rhonda Blackmore is no longer in charge as commanding officer of RCMP F Division.
In a statement, the RCMP stated "that the Commanding Officer of F Division will be away from F Division for an undetermined period of time."
News of Blackmore's departure circulated Tuesday in a message to employees that has been made public on social media.
"It is with great disappointment I am writing today to advise you that as of this morning, Tuesday, June 3rd, I have been removed as the Commanding Officer 'F' Division," Blackmore stated.
She stated that the decision was made by the Senior Executive at National Headquarters. Blackmore also stated in that email that she has "been informed this action is being taken as a result of anonymous complaints made against me."
According to the RCMP statement, effective immediately, Assistant Commissioner Robin McNeil will "serve as the interim Commanding Officer of F Division, until a selection process is completed."
"There will be no impact on front-line policing operations nor the safety and security of the people of Saskatchewan during this interim period, which remains a priority. The RCMP has the utmost confidence in the excellent work of all F Division officers and employees to ensure the safety of the citizens of Saskatchewan during this time."
