Government employees in Sask. need to say goodbye to any TikTok apps still remaining on their devices — assuming they had them to begin with.

REGINA - The Government of Saskatchewan is the latest in Canada to ban the use of TikTok.

The move was announced in a statement from the province over the noon hour. It reads as follows:

"Following discussion with the federal Chief Information Officer and the provincial Information & Privacy Commissioner, the Government of Saskatchewan is banning the TikTok application from all government-owned devices pending the results of the federal threat assessment. This direction applies to all ministries, crowns and agencies; and is also being adopted by the government caucus."

The move follows similar announcements from the Government of Canada as well as other Canadian provinces.
