REGINA — The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority of Saskatchewan (FCAA) warns investors of the online entity known as www thackeraymines com (this URL has been manually altered so as not to be interactive), which is purporting to be associated with the Saskatchewan corporation, Thackeray Mines & Minerals Inc.
"Saskatchewan investors should check registration status at aretheyregistered.ca as the first step when considering any investment entities," FCAA Securities Division Executive Director Dean Murrison said. "Checking the registration status is quick, and a valuable protection tool for prospective investors."
The website www thackeraymines com claims that Thackeray Mines is seeking investors and engaged in several rounds of private placement investment in advance of a public listing. The legitimate Thackeray Mines has confirmed that they are not associated with www thackeraymines com, are not seeking investment, are not engaged in any private placement or public offerings and are not in the business of selling stocks.
www thackeraymines com is not registered with the FCAA to trade or sell securities or derivatives in Saskatchewan. The FCAA cautions investors and consumers not to send money to companies that are not registered in Saskatchewan, as they may not be legitimate businesses.
If you have invested with www thackeraymines com or anyone claiming to be acting on their behalf, contact the FCAA's Securities Division at 306-787-5936.
In Saskatchewan, individuals or companies need to be registered with the FCAA to trade or sell securities or derivatives. The registration provisions of The Securities Act, 1988, and accompanying regulations are intended to ensure that only honest and knowledgeable people are registered to sell securities and derivatives and that their businesses are financially stable.
