Wildfire update: no more evacuated communities in the province

Now down to 60 wildfires actively burning in Saskatchewan.

REGINA — Here is the latest update from the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency on the wildfire situation in the province.

As of 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, there are 60 active wildfires in Saskatchewan, down nine from the previous day.

Of those active fires, six are contained, eight are not contained, 33 are under assessment and 13 are listed as protecting values.

The SPSA reports that with improved weather conditions and reduced wildfire threat, no communities are currently evacuated and all highway access is open.

As of Monday, La Plonge Indian Reserve had been the only remaining community still under an evacuation order, but that has now been lifted.
