REGINA — The Hospitals of Regina Foundation has launched its 2025 Fall Home Lottery and it is the most valuable one they have ever offered.
The showhome, located at 4158 Fieldstone Way in the Creeks neighbourhood, is worth $1.7 million, the highest ever. The winner of the grand prize will receive the showhome plus $50,000 cash.
There is a total of $2.7 million in prizes to be won and they include the following:
- There is the Audi and Australia trip early bird prize, where you can win both or take $110,000 in cash (deadline midnight Oct. 24);
- The Canuck Adventure bonus prize where you could win a turbocharged hybrid 2025 Toyota Land Cruiser, two inflatable paddle boards, two electric bikes and a Parks Canada Natural Discover Pass, or $100,000 in cash (deadline midnight Sept, 26);
- And the Sand or Safari VIP prize where you could win either a trip to the Turks and Caicos Islands or a seven day African safari, or $25,000 in cash (deadline Sept. 5).
- There is also the Membership Loyalty Prize for those members of the public who choose to become members of the lottery. Members will be entered to win $10,000 in cash. (Deadline is Nov. 14.)
The deadline for the grand prize showhome is Nov. 14.
As well, there is the add-on 50-50 tickets which exceeded $1.1 million in their last lottery in the spring, as well as the Cash Calendar add-on which offers $2,500 daily from Feb. 2 to 27, plus two lucky Cash Calendar winners will also win $25,000 each on Feb. 1 and 28.
Dino Sophocleous, CEO of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, says the proceeds go to a good cause.
"When you purchase a ticket in the Hospitals of Regina Foundation Home Lottery, you're helping us deliver the new technologies and equipment our medical teams need to care for the people of southern Saskatchewan, and I cannot stress this enough, right here at home.
"We are strong believers in local health care, and the foundation has made local health care a priority since 2015. This year, proceeds from the lottery will help the foundation deliver on our 2025 commitment to our hospitals and health-care facilities, which total $5.9 million."
Sophocleous said they will be investing $1.7 million in pediatrics and maternal health, as well as over $1.3 million for new technology and equipment for surgical programs at both Regina General and Pasqua Hospitals, among others.
The latest show home is another in a long line that Hospitals of Regina Foundation has had in the Creeks neighbourhood. Sophocleous explained why the area has been so popular as a location for the grand prize showhome.
"Well, the Creeks is certainly a premium location in Regina. We like that," said Sophocleous.
"This is where million-dollar-plus homes are built all the time. And we certainly look for both the location of the showhome and the showhome itself to be aspirational. I think that's what our community likes. And certainly we have a long history of selling out and selling a lot of tickets. That speaks to that."
Sophocleous also said this is going to be the last one they do in the Creeks, because "we've run out of space."
"We've built about, I would estimate... about 20 show homes in the Creeks."
As for the location where next year's lottery showhome will be, Sophocleous would not reveal where it will be, saving that answer for the spring.
