A decade of fun at Nutrien Playland

The Ferris wheel, carousel, and a replica of the Canadian Pacific train are the rides.

SASKATOON — Nutrien Playland celebrated its 10th year of providing outdoor fun at Kinsmen Park on Tuesday, Aug. 5. The one-day celebration was from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., where tickets were rolled back to $2 each when the mini theme park opened in 2015.

Kids enjoyed the day with freebies like frisbees, sunglasses, cupcakes, face painting, balloon twisting, and a juggling show. There was also a playground with a water spray, a sandbox and different climbing structures.

The main attractions include the Ferris wheel, at 19 metres high, offering a glimpse of the cityscape; the carousel with beautifully restored vintage animals; and the one-third scale replica of the Canadian Pacific train that goes around the 626-metre loop around the park.
