REGINA – An adult male is facing multiple charges after a dangerous driving incident on Highway 11 last week, which ended in a tire deflation device being deployed to stop the pursuit.
According to the Craik RCMP, the incident started on Aug. 20 around 4:50 p.m. The Saskatoon RCMP detachment received several public complaints about a vehicle being driven erratically while travelling southbound on the highway.
Officers responded, and Craik RCMP located the suspect vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed near Kenaston. Officers activated their vehicle’s emergency equipment and attempted a traffic stop. The suspect vehicle did not stop, fleeing southbound on Highway 11.
For safety reasons, a tire deflation device was set up and the suspect vehicle ran it over, causing all four tires to deflate. The suspect vehicle continued to drive at a reduced speed before coming to a stop north of Davidson.
Romain Baudemont, 38, of Regina, is charged with dangerous driving and flight from police.
He also received a traffic-related ticket, and his vehicle was impounded.
Baudemont is scheduled to appear in Moose Jaw Provincial Court on Oct. 1.
