SASKATOON — Three woman are facing charges following three separate incidents Thursday.
At approximately 10:30 p.m., July 17, patrol officers responded to an assault in progress at a residence in the 200 block of Avenue L South. Upon arrival, police located a woman suffering from several stab wounds. The suspect, a 32-year-old female, was also located at scene. She is charged with aggravated assault. The 45-year-old victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
At approximately 6:15 p.m., July 17, police responded to the 200 block of 10th Street East after it was reported a woman was wielding a black firearm, acting erratically, and striking vehicles in a parking lot. Upon arrival, the suspect approached officers carrying a bag and began to raise a black handgun from within. She initially refused to comply with officers’ directions to drop the bag before throwing the weapon the ground. Once the woman was in custody, officers were able to determine the weapon was a BB gun. The 35-year-old suspect is believed to have been under the influence of an intoxicant and has been charged with mischief over $5,000.
At approximately 1:30 p.m., July 17, it was reported that a female had brandished a knife in a business in the 100 block of 2nd Avenue North. Members of the SPS Bike Unit attended and located the suspect who was attempting to assault a male entering a different business. Upon her arrest, she was found in possession of a knife and believed to be under the influence of an intoxicant. The 33-year-old female is charged with possession of a dangerous weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, and breach of court-imposed conditions.
