The Battlefords North Stars and Yorkton Terriers swept their weekend home-and-home series. The Humboldt Broncos and Weyburn Red Wings each won the lone game they played over the weekend.

Matthew Reidy was named this year’s team captain. Eduard Wruck, Ian Maier, and Mathieu Gautier are this year’s assistant captains.

4-5 win for the home town team.

Caleb Allen made 42 saves for the Terriers in the season opener for both teams.

Long-time Bruin supporter Gail Chilman unveiled the banner.

Kade Runke is in his second year with the Bruins, while Cody Davis and Alex Von Sprecken are in their fourth.

The Battlefords North Stars, Humboldt Broncos, Kindersley Klippers, La Ronge Ice Wolves, Melfort Mustangs, Melville Millionaires, Nipawin Hawks and Notre Dame Hounds start the 2022-23 Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League season on Sept. 16.

The Estevan Bruins will have a couple of familiar faces in goal when they start the 2022-23 regular season Friday night at Affinity Place against the Yorkton Terriers. 

The Bruins will start the 2022-23 season Friday night when they host the Yorkton Terriers, starting at 7 p.m. The club that won the league title this past season will be recognized before the game. 

The Terriers now have a few days to prepare for the regular season which starts in Estevan Friday, with the Bruins back here for action Saturday starting at 7 p.m.
