The love of horses
Horses can make a positive impact in the lives of people.

Have you ever stood among a herd of horses? Have you ever had the opportunity to watch them run and frolic or even just stand there peacefully munching away on grass or hay?

If you haven’t and you get the opportunity to do so, I highly recommend it because in my experience there has never been a more beautiful, sacred and peaceful place to be.

Throughout my lifetime, I have been through many hardships, as a lot of people have, I am sure. And through each of those hardships, through the history of my life so far, there has been a horse. The absolute peace and serenity I find standing in the presence of a horse are second to none.

Did you know a horse can mend a broken heart? Did you know that they can feel your energy and heal that energy? They can. Horses are immensely intelligent and sensitive creatures and though people may argue they cannot feel emotion, in my experience, they can.

I do not know how many times I have cried into the mane of a horse, or laid my head on their shoulder, arms around their neck, and poured out my deepest regrets and fears. I cannot count how many times a horse has brought me back out of the pit of depression or taught me how to dream again after I thought it was not possible.

I have seen horses make shy people come out of their shells. I have watched them teach my daughters what it is to love. Not to mention heal a soul, teach empathy, patience, and kindness.

Horses throughout history have proven time and time again their worth and the magic they hold.

Us as humans are so lucky to be able to spend even a moment with these creatures. They see right into our souls and teach us who we are or who we are capable of becoming. Horses have taught me how to pray, how to lose gracefully and stay humble, how to believe and how to breathe. Horses have taught me more about myself than any human ever has.

As Winston Churchill said: “There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.”
