Carlyle Junior Golf Tournament saw 54 junior golfers from the area take part in its event held on Aug 17. The annual event, held at Carlyle Golf Club, included two categories for golfers to compete in including 10 and under and 10 and over.

Even though he could not tell time, my three-year-old grandson was wearing a watch when I visited. Later, when I was putting on my coat to leave, I asked him what time it was. He looked at his watch blankly, then brightened.

25th annual Homespun just around the corner

With just over three weeks left before Homespun, organizers are busy putting the final touches on what is sure to be a great show once again. Homespun Craft Show and Sale is fast approaching and is entering into its 25th year.

After the flood

We are all now wading through the debris, seeing what can be saved of our flooded homes. I pick up a destroyed picture of my son at two with a cast on his arm and the dam of tears burst.
