The Novice Carlyle Cougars had a very successful weekend of hockey. The practices are really paying off and the team has really come together to provide the parents and fans with some extremely entertaining games.

A couple of weeks ago, Peter Mansbridge, the anchor of CBC National TV News, had an one to one interview with Chris Hadfield who has been on the space shuttle. It was very excited to watch the program.

On Feb. 16 at the Happy Nun in Forget, Juno Award winning artist Cara Luft will be performing. Luft is known for her work in the band The Wailin' Jennys, but has been a solo artist for a number of years.

A little girl is sitting on her grandpa's lap, studying his face. She gets up the nerve to rub her fingers over the wrinkles. Then she touches her own face and looks more puzzled.

I've begun reaming out my office. It's not that there's a lot of trash and I do keep the wastebasket emptied on a regular basis, it's just I find it hard to part with the somewhere around fifteen hundred articles I've had published.

The issues of food security and of hunger among Canadians, is one I constantly struggle getting my head around. I tend to get the idea of someone living on the streets of Toronto, or Vancouver, likely to face hunger as an all too regular occurrence.

Perhaps it's only appropriate that hints of rising property taxes are the first hint that Saskatchewan Party government may be sailing towards troubled waters.

The Cougars Novice 8 and Under Team, coached by Larry Rae and Jeff Humphries played two very different games this past weekend. The team has been working hard on positioning, angling and passing.

The GFK Mixed Junior Curling Team placed 3rd at Tim Horton's 14 and Under Bonspiel. Congratulations to Mercedes Sackman, Emmett Guider, Zach Romaniuk, and Gavin Walters. Term 2 Report Cards will be going out next week.
